Scripture: Deuteronomy 10:12 (NIV)-And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul Observation: When I read this scripture it sounded like you could replace the name "Israel" and insert our own names. "And now, Cameron.....And now Heart of Aloha....And now..etc..etc.". Fear The Lord is what we are admonished to do. It seems that our relationship with The Lord has to be ever increasing and growing in order to fully understand what is to "Fear The Lord". As strange as it sounds it is because of God's love for us that we fear him. Fear him in a sense that we submit to His will, His purposes for our lives, His holiness, His grace and have great reverence unto Him all along offering ourselves as a "living sacrifice". Application: My actions in serving The Lord will determine whether I fear him or not. This applies to my personal life, family life, church life, work life, etc. If I truly Fear The Lord I will do my best to honor and bring glory to Him in whatever I do. And even if I mess up God is faithful to forgive me when I come to him with a repentant heart. The scriptures encourages us to walk in obedience, love him and to serve Him with all our heart and soul. Prayer: Oh Lord your Word is uplifting, life-sustaining, refreshing, rejuvenating to my soul this morning. It shows me how much you love us and how you want us to love your right back. Keep me standing in times of trials, keep me focus when the enemy wants to throw confusion in my life. Increase my love and fear for you. Praising you all along....in Jesus Name Amen. | |
