Scripture:  7 “Don’t be afraid,” David said to him, “for I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.” (2nd Samuel 9:7)

Observation:  David and Jonathan were very good friends in the past, and because of this David held true to his word in taking care of a family member of Jonathan's named Mephibosheth (who David is referring to in the above scripture). They were so close that David insisted that Mephibosheth eat at his table and was therefore highly favored.

This just brings to mind that you never know what will happen with your children, grandchildren, etc. down throughout the generations because of her interactions and how you treat other people.  They just may turn around and show them  favor the same way David did to Mephibosheth.

Application:  Keeping the "main thing the main thing" continues to ring out in my spirit when I read this passage, loving God and loving others.  This is what our goal is to be while on earth, whether our love is extended to our family members, friends, community, island, etc...it is towards all.  At times we must intentionally bring this to the forefront of our minds and act upon it. Another thought that comes to mind is, "what we sow we will reap"...

Prayer:  Heavenly Father thank you for my health today, my ability to think clearly, to be breathing and alive today and to be able to write down my thoughts today.  Lord I pray for your continued guidance and direction to show me how to love you even more and to love others too.  Bless my family this day and our church Ohana...I pray Holy Spirit that you will tug at peoples heart to see the truth in Jesus Christ for He is the Way, Truth and Life.....in Jesus Name....Amen.
