Scripture: Proverbs 8:1,35 1) Does not wisdom call, And understanding lift up her voice? 35) For he who finds me finds life And obtains favor from the Lord.

Observation: Is it the right thing to do or the "wise" thing to do? We are encouraged by today's scripture to listen to the call of "wisdom" and understanding for it is the door way to true life and positions us to obtain favor from the Lord. Several years ago I learned from Pastor Wayne Cordeiro that you can either learn from wisdom....or learn from consequence. In otherwords as we grow in Christ it is helpful to learn from the experience of others that have gone down that road in situations similar to ours, for it will save us a lot of time and headaches.

Application: Our stubborness and pride can be a hinderance in hearing God's Holy Spirit speak to us in the area of wisdom. I know I have faced many situations that ended up in the wrong decision because of not seeking God and his wisdom first. The Bible even tells us to "ask God for wisdom! James 1:5 (NLT) tell us: 5 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

Prayer: Heavenly father this morning I ask for your wisdom as a Husband, Father, Pastor, Son, Brother and for the uniqueness of who you created me to be. Forgive me Lord when I go off the path of wisdom and seek my own understanding. Please keep me disciplined in your word and prayer amongst all the distractions of life. I pray that you would guard my heart and mind against the schemes of the enemy....You be praised Lord God this Day!....in Jesus Name...Amen.
