Scripture:

Ezekiel 32:11-12 (NLT)  11 For this is what the Sovereign Lord says:“The sword of the king of Babylon will come against you.12 I will destroy your hordes with the swords of mighty warriors—the terror of the nations. They will shatter the pride of Egypt, and all its hordes will be destroyed.

Observation:

Again in our scripture the word "PRIDE" jumps out against the nation of Egypt.  Ezekiel's prophetic words from God to Egypt has no lack of description that would rattle a king-- "will destroy", "will shatter", "with the swords of mighty warriors". Later in the chapter the words "strip you of everything" and "strike you down" are mentioned and many more.  Egypt was a nation again taking the credit for it's power, wealth and prosperity.

I guess our local slang would be that they were getting "high makamaka" (nose up in the air so to speak)  And we know that God deals harshly with that kind of attitude.  James 4:6 gives a good reference on this pride:

James 4:6Good News Translation (GNT)" 6 But the grace that God gives is even stronger. As the scripture says, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."

Application:

The minute I start taking credit for the blessings, abundance and prosperity as a Christian in my life the spirit of PRIDE will have no problem breakingdown  the door and entering in.  A daily dose of gratefulness in devotions and prayer unto God will help me to keep a proper perspective of my life  because of God goodness/greatness.  Like the scripture says in 1 Timothy 6:7(KJV)-7 "For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out."

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for your mercy and compassion that is never ending in my life...I don't know what I would do without you.  You are my strongtower, my refuge, my rock, my redeemer, my savior and my first love.  Lord help me to keep away from pride in my life and grow in humility for I know it is so easy to fall into that snare. A prayer also for Christians around the world who are getting brutally persecuted...would you extend your grace and mercy in those situations.  I may not understand your full plan but I will continue to trust in You...in Jesus Name...Amen
