Scripture:

Psalms 48:9 (NIV)  Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love. 10 Like your name, O God, your praise reaches to the ends of the earth; your right hand is filled with righteousness.

Observation:

I felt really  good reading this passage this morning.  Reading the words "unfailing love" from God seems eternal, everlasting, forever and is comforting.  There are so many things in this world that will fail us and slap us down, knock the wind out of us, buckle us at the knees and even twist knots in our stomachs...BUT... God's love will never fail us.  

Application:

Focusing on God's unfailing love in church is vital... for at times we can get so caught up in the schedule, agenda, the technical aspects of running a church, etc. (nothing wrong when doing it in the spirit of excellence)...but when all is said and done it is a place where we celebrate God's love for us and what He is doing in our lives.  It is a place where we Praise and Worship with all of our might in spirit and truth.  It is a place where reverence and holiness is due.  It is a place where we should feel safe in his arms.  It is a place where we are equipped by His Word....all because of his lovingkindness and unfailing love.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father thank you for offering your unfailing love to us for it brings peace and comfort.  I pray you would help me to align my thoughts this day in staying within the  boundaries  you have purposed for my life while still on earth for I know there are many distractions that can pull or knock me off from the path you have already laid out for me.  Lord I also ask that you would help me grow in the area of loving others as you have done for me.  Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven....Amen.
