Scripture: Psalms 7:14 -17 (NIV) : Whoever is pregnant with evil conceives trouble and gives birth to disillusionment. 15 Whoever digs a hole and scoops it out falls into the pit they have made. 16 The trouble they cause recoils on them; their violence comes down on their own heads. 17 I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High. Observation: I love the description of someone who is filled with evil, the scriptrures above use the word "pregnant". This is someone that continues to stir up trouble, deceit, lies, etc. over and over and over, the result is giving "birth" to disillusionment or basically great disappointment.. Application: I'm sure many of us have encountered some form of evil in our lives displayed by someone you knew or didn't know. There may have been times that hurt, rage, frustration, feelings of anger, injustice may have erupted within you because of the evil that was thrown at you. Maybe things never got resolved and you felt there was vengance that needed to take place. Rest assure our Lord is a God of justice and righteousness as the scriptures tells us above. As hard as it may seem we need to Trust the Lord for the final outcome of the situation. God always has the last say. I believe the measure of peace we experience is dependent on what we decide to let go and give to God. Prayer: Lord I pray for your perfect peace this day. And if there is anything that is still clinging on to my spirit that may bring unrest, I release that to you right now in Jesus name. I pray for those that struggle with the same feelings today Lord in whatever situation they are dealing with. Whether it is envy, jealousy, bitterness, hatred, offense or disappointment help us to break through those areas and learn how to receive your love, joy and peace. Thank you for another day...another breath of life....another day to bring you Glory and Honor....another day to experience all that life brings us....another day Lord...in Jesus Name....Amen. | |
