Scripture:  Matthew 14:13,35 (NLT) "

13 As soon as Jesus heard the news, he left in a boat to a remote area to be alone. But the crowds heard where he was headed and followed on foot from many towns"

35 When the people recognized Jesus, the news of his arrival spread quickly throughout the whole area, and soon people were bringing all their sick to be healed.

Observation:  It seems at the time wherever Jesus went news spread quickly throughout the towns.  We need to remember there was no texting, iPhones, facebook, etc.  But that didn't matter because somehow word got around.  Here in Hawaii we call it the "coconut wireless".  The crowds not only heard of his arrival, but they took action to even follow him by foot.  Again remember, there were no cars, trucks, etc.

Application:  We today have the same mandate now as it was in the past. Basically bringing Jesus to the people, bringing healing where it is needed, bringing the gospel where it is needed, bringing food and clothing where it is needed, bringing hope where it is needed, bringing prayer where it is needed, bringing God's love, mercy and compassion where it is needed.  Are we doing this?  When people here that the Kingdom of God is near at hand, do they know that Jesus is in the house?  They should  because if they do, we will need no iPhones, facebook, or text message to get the news out.  It will get done somehow.

Prayer:  Lord I pray that you will keep us equipped  by your Holy Spirit as we share the good news of Jesus Christ coming to earth for the forgiveness of our sins and to give us the hope of eternal life.  I pray we would be good ambassadors of Christ representing Him in truth.  Correct us along the way Lord when we get off-track.....in Jesus Mighty Name...Amen
