Scripture:  Ezekiel 11:5 (NLT) Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon me, and he told me to say, “This is what the Lord says to the people of Israel: I know what you are saying, for I know every thought that comes into your minds.

Observation:  The word "omniscient" (ALL-KNOWING)  God comes to mind.  The God that we serve is an all-knowing God.  The scripture tells us that Ezekiel was being used to warn the people of Israel that God knew exactly what they were sayinng and  thinking for they were carrying on as a 'rebellious nation" thinking he didn't know what was going on in their idol worshippng and turning their back against Him.

Application:  In the same way, God knows our thoughts too before we even speak.  There was one thing I observed that rang out loudly in this chapter of Ezekiel which God was very displeased with and that was the people serving and worshipping other idols.  In otherwords the people of Israel were putting their Trust in man made objects instead of God.  God got so furious he wanted to kill them.  We need to be careful as Christians that we don't allow the idols of this world (money, fame, greed, i-this and i-that) don't become our idols and pull us away from serving God because the outcome may not be favorable.

Prayer:  Lord I pray you would keep your children focused upon you in this world that continues to esculate in evil.  I pray for protection, endurance and a heart of repentance when we do stray. I thank you that your love and mercy endures forever.  And as all your people take the time to worship you this Sunday, I pray the worship will go up to you as a sweet incense as they worship YOU in Spirit and in Truth...in Jesus name...Amen
