Scripture:  (Acts 16:30-32 --NLT) 30 Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.” 32 And they shared the word of the Lord with him and with all who lived in his household.

Observation:  The gospel of Jesus Christ continues to be the same today as it was back in Paul and Silas's time.  If we believe in the Lord, we will be saved. The Jailer who asks the questions "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"  just witnessed a miracle of God when an earthquake hit and the jail cell and shackles were broken for the prisoners to escape such as Paul and Silas, but they didn't.  It's interesting how an experience such as this could "shake and rattle" the jailer's whole being in wanting a change in his and his family's life.

Application:  Today's scripture just reminds me that nothing is impossible for God when it comes to saving our loved ones for Jesus Christ.  We may think that they are not listening, they are not watching us as Christians, they are not seeing what turmoil is going on in the world, but they are.  I believe deep inside of everyone there is an emptiness/hole  that can only be filled with Christ and people are searching for an answer.  But often times there are too many layers of distraction, worldly desires and selfish motives in peoples lives that it suffocates God's desire for them to experience the true abundant life in Christ Jesus.  I pray that just as the jailer experienced, our loved ones will have their lives "shaken and rattled" so that their eyes may be open to the Way, the Truth and the Life in Jesus Christ for them and their whole family.

Prayer:  Lord I pray the blinders would come off of our loved one's eyes so that they may be saved.  I pray that those that may have strayed or gotten off track from your will for their lives may be find their way back home to you.  I pray that you would put the right people in the paths of people that need just the right encouragement to make it through another day. I pray for supernatural healing on the broken, the lost, the desperate, the depressed, the oppressed, the downtrodden, and those that have lost hope in life.  Lord a strong wind of joy to be restored, a refreshing breeze of hope and love to permeated every area of those that need it, a blanket of peace and comfort for those that long for it, and I pray we would have more grace and mercy with each other....even a spirit of forgiveness where it needs to happen.  Lord do it now, this day, in Jesus Name...Amen.
