Scripture:  John 13:34-34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Observation:  I've read this scripture many times before and then it dawn to me a revelation:  "love others as Jesus have loves us". But how do you love someone like Jesus?  It starts with knowing Jesus.  How do you know Jesus?  By spending time in the Word reading about him and by prayer.

Application:  Knowing someone involves spending time with them through all situations.  It's been about 8 months that we've taken on the responsibility of a new dog "Nellie" (Pitbull).  It started with feeding her, getting her "potty-trained" so to speak outside because she stayed in our home initially, playing with her, correcting her, training her, even listening to her snore as she slept close by,  etc.  And now she has grown to enjoy hugs, playtime and even knows certain hand gestures or clicks of our tongue  to tell her to come here or sit.  Point being she is very keen and aware of what we expect out of her.  Now I know this is referring to a dog (God's creation), but how aware are we of the Lord's promptings or love?  Do we really know Jesus enough to display and share his love?  I have found it challenging at times to do my devotions, but I know everytime I do it, I am refreshed and I know I am drawing close to Him.

Prayer:  Lord simply show me how to love others better and more. I do it because I love you....in Jesus Name...Amen.
