Scripture:  Nehemiah 3:8 (NIV) 8 Uzziel son of Harhaiah, one of the goldsmiths, repaired the next section; and Hananiah, one of the perfume-makers, made repairs next to that. They restored Jerusalem as far as the Broad Wall.

Observation:  All throughout Chapter 3 of Nehemiah it names different people  rebuilding sections of the wall of Jerusalem that was torn down, one next to the other they worked repairing section at a time.  It didn't matter if they were goldsmiths, perfume-makers, merchants, priests, levites, temple servants, etc., they ALL took part in some way or fashion to complete the repairing of the wall.  And they trusted God and His protection to help them complete it.

Application:  It is said that the body of Christ (the church) is made up of different members and parts, each one doing what they were created to do, each one participating as an active member of the church.  It is interesting to read today's passage and find out how each person took a section of the wall and worked on it.  Initally it may have seem daunting and almost impossible to complete, but there was a concerted effort, driven by a vision to accomplish it together....in unity....in one accord....that is where God commands the blessings.  We must remember that we are pieces of the puzzle, part of a great picture and plan of God's Kingdom....we simply just need to do our part in where God has called us.....get off the fence and jump into action for the Lord....working together with each other and not against each other.

Prayer:  Lord I thank you that we can enter your gates with Thanksgiving and your courts with Praise because of who YOU ARE.  I pray against the spirit of complacency, division, unforgiveness and any and all things that would drive a wedge from your people working together in unity.  I pray that your people would arise and take their positions to build the "section" of where you have called them to build in their lives while still on earth.  Father God I ask your protection in the process of  "building and repairing"  from the enemy who may hurl accusations, insults, distractions or any other form of hinderances to sway us off track of YOUR will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.  In Jesus mighty name I pray....Amene!
