Scripture: Acts 28:30-31 (NLT) 30- For the next two years, Paul lived in Rome at his own expense. He welcomed all who visited him, 31- boldly proclaiming the Kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one tried to stop him.
Observation: These short two verse in today's reading has the Apostle Paul on point with the mission God had laid out for him. The scriptures tell us that for two years Paul welcomed people who visited him, proclaimed the Kingdom of God and taught about Jesus Christ. It made me realize that in today's culture and worldview, media and technology age we are living in, we can easily be distracted of what we are commissioned to do in Matthew 28:19-20 (NLT) 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[a] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Application: If we are not careful as a church, we may end up allowing the world's influence to contaminate the church and it's calling. In fact, the church itself may end up creating their own culture that leads people away from the great commission as mentioned in Matthew 28:19-20. Focus...focus...focus...pray...pray...pray that we don't fall out of alignment with God's Kingdom or simply HIS way of living while we are still here on earth. Because one day we will be with Him in heaven and we'd better be sure we were doing our part come the judgment day for all. Sometime we just need to snap out of it, wake up, get up, don't give up and get going with the things of God. It is intentional, it is purposeful, it is a responsibility we've been given by Jesus Christ himself! Believers in Christ must continue to support, encourage, pray and learn how to help one another...the time is too short to be distracted by the enemy..... Imua Imua O Lanakila! Forward...forward to Victory (for it has already been won) Pray: Lord I thank you that your Word never fails as it nourishes us and fills us up when we drink from it. Your Word tells us that we will never go thirsty when we draw from YOU. Lord my prayer is that we all would have a "red warning light" within our spirit that would be set off like a siren alarm when we are straying from YOU. Help all of us a believers in Christ to stay on the mission you've given us and endure to the end. There may be many agendas the world tries to tug at us.....let YOU be our only agenda in every facet of our lives....in Jesus Name...Amen | |
