Scripture: Luke 12:33 (NLT) 33 “Sell your possessions and give to those in need. This will store up treasure for you in heaven! And the purses of heaven never get old or develop holes. Your treasure will be safe; no thief can steal it and no moth can destroy it.

Observation:  "The purses of heaven never get old or develop holes". This one phrase caught my attention this morning.  There are so many things on this earth that we can get caught up in the areas of materialism, possessions, greed, etc. The bible is saying don't focus on these things but on the areas that are of eternal value.

Application:  The world is getting "self-centered" with all the "igadgets".  We are being influenced to focus on oneself--feels good, looks good, must be good.  But really it sometimes leads to destruction in relationships, finances, health, etc.  The things that matter to God is our love for Him and one another.  Are we forgiving?  Have we extended grace and mercy?  Are we serving each other? ...encouraging one another....praying for one another...sharing the Gospel?

Prayer: Lord thank you for reminding me this morning that it all points back to you.  The world may want to distract us and knock us off track.  The enemy is hard at work to take us out....I pray for endurance, focus, alignment, your protection, ... more of your Holy Spirit power working in and through your children.  To you be the Glory...in Jesus name...Amen!
