Scripture: Deuteronomy 4:39 (NIV)--39 Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other.

Observation: This scripture passage was written right after Moses had gone down a whole list of how God did miracles over and over to let the Israelites know that they were his people, and He was their God. Although they constantly disobeyed God and turned away from Him, He remained faithful to them even though there were times that His wrath consumed some of their lives because of their disobedience.

Application: Just this past Sunday we spoke about the spiritual condition of our "hearts" and here in scripture there is reference to taking to heart that the Lord is God in heaven and earth. I must learn to keep my spiritual heart in check on a daily basis. This is effectively done through prayer and the study of God's word. It helps me from swerving off the path God has laid out for me. I also recognize that I need to settle it in my heart that the Lord IS God and there is NO other. This has to remain solidly imbedded in my heart.

Prayer: Oh Lord thank you for today....it is not just another say....but this is the day that YOU have made and I will be glad and "rejoice" in it. Lord, there is none like you. I thank you that your eyes are ever watching over me and my family. I thank you for your protection. I thank you that you have always been good to me. Go before me this day....in Jesus name...Amen.
