Topic:  Helping the WEAK

Scripture:

35In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.

(NIV) Acts 20:35

Observation:

These were some of the last words Paul had spoken to the elders of Ephesus.  Apparently this would be the last time Paul would be seeing them.  It was important enough to instruct them to keep helping those that were weak. In fact, he quoted Jesus with these words---"It is more blessed to give than to receive"

Application:

With all the experiences and hardships that Paul faced, his final words included helping those that were weak.  Weak could have meant--those that are without--those that are physcially weak--those that are mentally weak--those that are spirirtually weak.  But whatever the case may be, we are instructed to take action---if we can give of our treasures, give---if we can give of our time, give---if we can give our talents, give.  Even if it puts us in a little hardship, help and give.

Prayer:

Lord, I pray that you would not only put people in our paths to help, but we ask You to show us how we can help them....in Jesus name ...Amen.
