32 So be careful to do what the LORD your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. 33 Walk in all the way that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess

(NIV) Deuteronomy 5:32

After Moses told the Israelites about the ten commandments he received from the Lord, he issued the above instructions. Basically to follow the commandments, stay focused and stay on the right path and do not turn aside to the right or left.  In other words don't allow temptations that you encounter to lure you in causing you to sin against God.

Of course there were no Television, Internet, Iphones, or any other Tech gadgets during that time.  The Israelites' world consisted of whatever was in front of them that they could see.  And it seems when they encountered other nations that worshipped false gods--they forgot about the scriptures above and started to veer off to the right or left and ended up sinning against God.

We too, in today's society must be very careful in what we allow into our homes through the various media tools available to us today.  And unlike the Israelites, we don't have to leave our homes to encounter things that may cause us to sin against God, we just need to be careful.

Lord thank you for all the high tech tools available today to spread the Gospel throughout the "whole world", but help us not to fall into temptation in sinning while utilizing these tools.  Keep us ever so alert and focused on staying on the right path and not veering to the left or right. Help us Holy Spirit to be guided and directed in Jesus Name...Amen.
