Scripture    Psalm 37:30-31  The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue talks of justice. The law of his God is in his heart, none of his steps shall slide.

Observation  If one stays close to the Lord, God will give him wisdom to rise above the wisdom of the world. If you choose to disassociate yourself from the Lord, distractions will abound. In fact even while trying to stay close to the Lord, distractions abound.

Application  It takes stringent discipline to train your mind and heart to stay focused. It isn't easy but can become a lifestyle and so automatic that the distractions will subside. There are so many things that clamor for our attention daily, that we have to guard our hearts and take authority over our minds and even our bodies to stay on the right track, which leads to eternal life.

Prayer  Lord help me to weed out all the things that try to draw me away from You. Help me to be disciplined in my thinking and make wise decisions. Help me to keep Your laws in my heart, amen.
