Topic:  Trust

Scripture:

16 Then Naomi took the child, laid him in her lap and cared for him. 17 The women living there said, "Naomi has a son." And they named him Obed. He was the father of Jesse, the father of David

(NIV) Ruth 4:16-17

Observation:

Naomi lost her husband and two sons, though her daughter-in-law Ruth eventually married a man named Boaz, who she eventually bore a son named Obed, which runs down the line to David.

Now in the earlier chapters of Ruth, it's interesting how events unfold to bring Ruth to this point.

It just reminds me how awesome our God is. In that no matter what the situation is, how dire it may seem and feel, His eyes are always watching, and He knows the end from the beginning of how things will turn out.  We just need to continually Trust Him.

In this story Ruth refused to leave her mother-in-law Naomi, and because of this God was faithful in their lives.

Application:

Over and over again we are reminded in scriptures how the Lord works everything out for good for those that love Him and are called according to his purposes.(Rom. 8:28)

I may not know the outcome of problems and challenges I have to face as a Pastor, Father, Husband, etc.----But I have a God that knows!  And I will continually Trust Him for the outcome.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for our Easter Service this past Sunday----a lot of weary, worn, heavy-burdened souls entered the Service looking for a glimmer of hope in their lives.  And Lord I pray that they have found it through Jesus Christ.  Keep us alert and  aware of what's going on around us to meet the need of those that really need Your help....in Jesus Name...Amen
