Topic: God's Love

Scripture:

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;

test me and know my anxious thoughts.

24 See if there is any offensive way in me,

and lead me in the way everlasting.

(NIV) Psalms 139:23-24

Observation:

This was a scripture shared with me in my early stages of my Christian Walk.  It was a timely and powerful scripture at the time---a so called "Rhema" moment for me: A rhema is a verse of Scripture that the Holy Spirit brings to our attention with application to a current situation or need for direction. The Holy Spirit illuminates particular Scriptures for application that are confirmed in our daily walk with the Lord.

Application:

When I received that scripture above, the Holy Spirit was revealing all the years of bondage and sin that I was living in. As I look back, it had more to do with my ignorance and relying on my own wisdom than anything else, that resulted in unfavorable circumstances including broken relationships.

But I believe that was the "turning point" of my life--the so called "hit the wall" kind of moment for me.  God's Holy Spirit showed me how wretched and filthy I was without His forgiveness. But God also showed me His Heart mercy and compassion and a life of Hope!   This is the same Hope God is wanting me to share with others...

Prayer:

Lord, the road to recovery, restoration and wholeness may be a long journey, but there are sign posts of encouragement, hope, new life, Your promises, forgiveness, mercy, compassion, and love posted all along the roadside.  And I thank you for that in Jesus Name....Amen.
