May 1, 2010 Scripture Matthew 18:3-4 Assuredly , I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Observation A lot of people have their own identity in life according to what they have a passion for and what they are known for. Many times it isn't anything to do with the kingdom of God. We can be childish or childlike, with humble and sincere hearts. If we can become like children with no status or influence governing our lives, we my have more room in our hearts for the Lord and not be so concerned about what people think of us and other "childish" traits.
Application If we can apply ourselves to maintaining our eternal perspectives and priorities, we would have less time to whine or be childish. Instead we ought to be concerned about what the Lord thinks of what we concern ourselves with on a daily basis.
Prayer Lord help me to keep pride far away. Please help me to maintain a Godly perspective in all that I concern myself in. help me to guard my thoughts and actions and keep You at the forefront of my everyday life, amen. | |
