Scripture  Psalm 97:10-12  You who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. And gladness for the upright in heart. Rejoice in the Lord, yu righteous, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.

Observation  Whew, evil is all around us at every turn, how difficult at times to not be tempted by any of it. The more we look around us, there are distractions that vie for our attention. Sometimes you just want to close your eyes so you don't see any of it. It's on television, internet, news media, even right here in the community on little Molokai.

Application How important it is to stay close to God by staying in the Word, praying unceasingly, and meditating on Him. Getting into your prayer closet is another refuge from the clamor around us. Trying to find a place to hide from the onslaught of evil around us should not be a difficult thing, as He is as close as the mention of His name. God is so faithful, and He is where you allow Him to be, right in your heart.

Prayer  Lord thank You for Your faithfulness. Thank You that You are my refuge in this busy, evil world that we live in. Help us to share the light of Your gospel in our daily lives, in whatever place that You put us. Guide us and go before us to smooth our paths. Grant us discernment as we live each day, so that we can make the right decisions. Amen
