Scripture  Proverbs 31:30,31    Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Observation  My wife is truly a Proverbs 31 woman and I have nothing but admiration and respect for her as a gift to me from God. I've watched and been in awe many times as she made decisions that truly were Godly ones regarding our family. As we raised our children to adulthood, it was many times, difficult to say the least, but through continual prayer and the faithfulness of God, we made the transition together to briefly becoming empty nesters. Then came the grandchildren. And it starts all over again with a new generation.

Application  Life is a never ending story and the decisions we make can and will affect our future. If we maintain our relationship with the Lord on a DAILY basis, He will never forsake us, but we must TRUST in Him. Our relationship with our spouses are also a daily effort to maintain and not forsake as well. I believe they go hand in hand, and thank God daily for my relationship with Him and the wife of my youth that he has allowed me to coexist with for almost 27 years.

Prayer  Lord thank You for my wife and thank You for all the years we have spent togther, and for getting us through the rough times. Help me to be a better husband and a better listener. Help me to be sensitive to her and be all that You want me to be. Keep pride far away from me and help me to keep my focus on You daily, amen.
