Topic:  Discipled

Scripture:

1 This is the word of the LORD concerning Israel. The LORD, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the spirit of man within him, ....

(NIV) Zechariah 12:1

Observation:

Yes we know God created the heavens and the earth.....but for some reason the statement right after that caught my eye:  "and who forms the spirit of man within him"...

The Bible tells us in Isaiah 64:8--

8 And yet, O Lord, you are our Father.

We are the clay, and you are the potter.

We all are formed by your hand.

Application:

Truly it is God that shapes and forms us to live a life that is pleasing to Him.  But if we remain rigid, stiff-necked, stubborn, disobedient, defiant, and hard-headed, God will not be able to shape us.  In order to live the abundant life, the full life we are intended to have on this earth we must be pliable, teachable, moldable  and open to receive the corrections necessary to live a life of righteousness.

Prayer:

Lord God help me  recognize when I have set myself up to hit a wall because of my short-sightedness or because of my stubbornness in doing things my way instead of Yours.  Help me to constantly have a teachable heart so the spirit man within me may Glorify and please You.  Help me to help others see You.....and Your Love.....in Jesus Name...Amen
