Scripture: When David and his men reached Ziklag, they found it destroyed by fire and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive. 4 So David and his men wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep. (NLT ) 1 Samuel 30:3-4 Observation: What a dreadful feeling for sure...everything burned and family gone. I can't even begin to imagine the awful feeling David and his men had faced....it's like your heart getting ripped out...gut-wrenched...wind knocked out of you...knee caps busted.....it was so bad that the men wept unti they had no strength left to weep. It's like they wept til they had no "life" left in them. Application: It is so reassuring that no matter how bad things get, God sees and knows all. The bible tells us he will never leave us or forsake us. In fact when we get down the Lord is always there to pull us up. All we have to do is extend our hand up to take his. When we are weak he is strong, when we have no sense of direction he clears the path and shows us the way, when things seem impossible in our eyes...nothing is impossible in His eyes. The latter part of verse 6 tells us: But David found strength in the LORD his God. Prayer: Lord I am so thankful that you are here with me 24/7, even if it's 2 or 3am in the morning because of a sleepless night. It is truly amazing that You are my friend. Thank you that you help me through every situation I face here on earth no matter what it is. Thank you for being my strength...in Jesus name..amen | |
