Scritpure: 13 Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.”Nathan replied, “The Lord has taken away your sin. You are not going to die. 14 But because by doing this you have shown utter contempt for[a] the Lord, the son born to you will die.” (NIV) 2 Samuel 12: 13-14

Observation:  Under God's watchful eyes David sinned and committed evil.  He actually committed adultery and had someone murdered! Wow...double whammy against the Ten Commandments. To some extent he even "coveted" his neighbor's wife....so that is strike 3.  Not sure if this applies in the context of scripture but because David sinned his son's life was taken.  The point: In order for God's forgiveness to be applied there needs to be the shedding of blood.

Application:  God simply doesn not like evil..period. In David's case he was the "annointed" King..the one God chose and lavished him and his surroundings. The scripture say: vs.7-9 Then Nathan said to David, “You are the man! This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul. 8 I gave your master’s house to you, and your master’s wives into your arms. I gave you all Israel and Judah. And if all this had been too little, I would have given you even more. 9 Why did you despise the word of the Lord by doing what is evil in his eyes?

We as followers of Christ are also annointed and chosen for God's purposes and will.  We need to make sure we understand this priviliged role and stay on track in being right with God.  At the same time when we fall God is faithful to forgive when we confess our sins....hallelujah!  Thank you Jesus!

Prayer:  Lord keep me on track this day....may my thoughts and deeds be pleasing in your sight. I pray for strength, courage and endurance to stay healthy in the race before me to reach more for Christ. Bless my Ohana and the sheep of Heart of Aloha.  I pray a blessing over them in Jesus Name...Amen
