Scripture:

Ezekiel 37:4-5 (NIV) Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath[a] enter you, and you will come to life.

Observation:  

Years and years have past and I've not understood the speaking to the dry bones by Ezekiel until now.  It has been because of taking the time time to read and study the people of Israel through a book written by Max Lucado and Pastor Randy Frazee entilted "The Story".  The Israelites had been in a long season of disobedience, but now The Lord was calling them to repentance. Restoration is taking place and The Lord will breath life, hope and prosperity back into the Israelites and the land they once occupied.

Application:

Calling us home is what comes to mind when reading this.  So often in our lives there are temptations around us and situations that may cause us to lose hope, get the wind knocked out of us, where life's circumstances may even have us buckle at our knees. But our God is faithful to breathe life, hope and prosperity into our lives if we stay close to Him, obey Him, worship Him, love Him and others.  Our hope is truly in Jesus Christ if we are to come alive and awaken from our past life of darkness and into his marvelous light.  

Prayer:

Lord just a special prayer this morning for Ashley, his daughter and his daughter's new born baby.  Help them through the season they are in.  Bring comfort, direction, strength and wisdom in that situation.

Lord I pray that you would breathe life upon the dead bones on this Island of Molokai including the churches and spiritual leaders.  Awaken all of us to your love, your hope, your abundant life, your prosperity that can come only from you.  Begin to bring the winds from the four corners of the earth to blow upon Molokai right now in Jesus Name....Let revival take place and let a shout of praise go out from North, South, East and West to declare your Glory, Goodness, Mercy, Compassion, Grace and Love.  Begin to restore people's broken families in Jesus Name...speak to the Fathers and Husbands to take their proper role in their Ohana.  Begin to awaken people's duty to care for one another, inlcuding the poor, the widow, the orphan, those that need practical help.  Begin to do it now Lord...in Jesus Name..Amen!
